Electronic Management Unit to improve Fuel Saving and Voltage stabilizer for motorcycle
The Creation of i-MINI.
Japan Zeromax has launched i-CHARGE since last year November, and has been proven to be a very effective product in reduce fuel consumption and also improve car’s performance since then. Many users has benefited from using i-CHARGE and here today, another important invention from Zeromax is this new i-MINI for motorcycle. It is produced after knowing there is a big demand for i-CHARGE like products in motorcycle market too. So Zeromax start R&D for this invention since last year. Today, i-MINI is brought to you after the repeated trying and hard work from the R&D teams in Zeromax.
Functions of i-MINI
Voltage Stabilizing System (VSS)
Just like in our cars, motorcycles use battery to power up all electronic products and to start an engine. Spark plug in the motorcycle combustion chamber uses this battery power to ignite and produce power. In this case it is very important to have a stable and right working voltage so your engine can perform at its best. With i-MINI install, the built-in voltage stabilizer circuit will make sure your engine is always perform at it best with enhanced ignition system and properly functioning parts.
Improve Alternator Power Supply Stability
Motorcycle has a much more smaller alternator compare to cars. So the charging power is very unstable. Since most of the motorcycle we use are single cylinder engine, (compare to car uses 3 to 12 cylinders) so each time the ignition system voltage changes will affect the engine performance totally. If the alternator is no good, the engine will be low efficiency. Using i-MINI will enhance the ignition system by supporting alternator when the charging efficiency is low. It will help to supply voltage needed so to make sure working voltage is maintained. This will then help to make all parts in your motorcycle perform at its best when you start your motorcycle engine.
Improve Ignition System, Fuel Saving and Increase Response Time.
For single cylinder engine motorcycle, we have only one spark plug inside the engine. So each firing occur from the spark plug, represent the performance of the engine. If your ignition system efficiency is 70%, then your engine performance is 70% of it maximum power. So i-MINI is made with computer chip program that enhance ignition power, it will improve the CDI (capacitive discharge ignition) working condition by release energy when your motorcycle cannot supply. Hence, with i-MINI, you can feel your motorcycle more powerful, more responsive and save more fuel.
HIBERNATION SYSTEM –
an intelligent invention that save i-MINI’s own energy consumption.
We can generally divide motorcycles into 2 classes. 50cc-250cc, classify as small bike, using single cylinder engine as power unit. Another class is 250cc-2500cc, consider as big bike, uses 2 to 4 cylinders engine as power unit. For small bike, the battery used is really small. Size is like size of your fist. And the working voltage is 6 Volts. Big bike uses bigger battery same size as a brick, with working voltage of 12 Volts. We wont have any power drain problem with these bigger bike, but when you use i-MINI in smaller bike, i-MINI will drain battery power in about a week time, as the battery is simply too small. During the development process, we notice this, so Zeromax Japan design a new electronic intelligent circuit that called HIBERNATION SYSTEM, which allow i-MINI to sleep when the motorcycle is not in use. When HIBERNATION SYSTEM detect motorcycle engine is off, i-MINI will cut off power supply to most the electronic components inside itself, and only the detection circuit on and wait for next start up of your motorcycle. This way, it can extend 3 times, up to 3 weeks that you can use i-MINI without turning on your motorcycle, and still able to start when you need it. But as a reminder, if you intend to leave country for more than 2 weeks, we still strongly advice you to disconnect your battery supply, so to protect battery life and allow you to start your motorcycle anytime when you need it again. This won’t be necessary for big motorcycle, but still if you can it be the best.
How to install i-MINI
It is very easy to install i-MINI. Just locate where is your motorcycle battery, (if you are not sure please check your motorcycle owner manual, how to replace a battery). And connect the i-MINI’s white wire to battery positive terminal and black wire to battery negative terminal. And you will find there is a big double tape enclosed with the kit, just back tape on i-MINI and another side to motorcycle chassis wall or battery itself. If you are not sure how to do this, please get help from any motorcycle service center will do. After installing i-MINI, just make sure you restore everything back to its normal position and you are ready for a ride. I-MINI is also special for its maintenance free design, so you won’t have to spend any more after you have it. But it will keep helping you to maintain an excellent working condition of your motorcycle.
Caution !! When you hear clicking noise from i-MINI
Don’t worry about that, as it is part of the design from i-MINI. Without i-MINI install, normally your motorcycle will need sometime for its alternator to charge up the battery to its working voltage. So you feel not smooth engine ride and not responsive first few minutes when you ride on your motorcycle. Power only get smoother after a while of your ride. With i-MINI, you will notice that your bike become responsive immediately you turn on your motorcycle engine. But you will also notice there is a clicking noise from i-MINI at the first few minutes. This is because i-MINI detect the alternator voltage is too low and not at its working voltage, so the internal relay will click on and off due to low voltage hibernation condition. This noise will stop once the alternator has reached its working voltage. This is good in a way that it actually shows that i-MINI hibernation system really work on your motorcycle.
